Irish Coalisland Slipware Bowl

 

 

Coalisland pottery slip decorated dairy bowl or crock. 

Circa 1870/80

 

The interior is glazed with the typical underglaze slip dripware decoration in bright yellow, which is characteristic of the Coalisland Pottery, Ballynakelly. Other examples can be seen in The Ulster Museum, Belfast.

 

Good bright colour, with expected wear and tear along the rim. Evidence of  surplus slip removal.
