Fred Aris - Portrait of a Cat up a Tree

A delightful portrait of a cat up a tree by Fred Aris. 1932/4-1995.

Fred Aris is linked to the group of 20th century British Naive Artists, who became popular in the art and music scene of the 1960's

He was shown and represented by the Portal Gallery, in Grafton Street, London, along with Beryl Cook and others.  Fred's cat paintings are particulary sought after.  Very little is known of his life, and he maintained a mystery around himself.
