These are charming rather whacky, almost cartoon like paintings. The hosts appear not to have expected their visitors who have probably popped by, dressed as they are in their comfortable slippers and house coats. The ladies have retired to the day room, with less expensive carpet and fireplace than the room in which the gents are having their animated conversation.
