English Naive School folk art watercolour, mid 19th century and signed lower right E T Davies.
Mounted under glass with gold slip and canted antique maple veneered frame, conservation board to the back.
Sight: 10.5" x 14" ( 27cm x 36cm)
Frame: 14.5" x 18" (37cm x 46cm)
An amusing naive portrayal of an English cavalry officer, mounted on a grey horse, galloping across an open landscape at speed. But despite the feeling of speed, all is static and both horse and rider could be merely on a fair ground ride.
Very little foxing, good colours.
